According to the court of the attacking country, Navalnaya allegedly wanted to cause an explosion near the administration building in occupied Mariupol, when a “referendum” was held there on the entry into the Russian Federation of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, as well as other occupied territories.
The Russians fantasized that Navalnaya, who is from Mariupol, allegedly worked for the Ukrainian special service and received 25 thousand hryvnias “from an accomplice” to buy a bicycle for “secret transportation of an improvised explosive device.”
The girl’s lawyer, Ivan Bondarenko, said he would contest the verdict.
It is worth noting that Russian propaganda media wrote about Navalnaya’s detention as early as September 27, 2022. They claimed that the Ukrainian “admitted guilt”.
In court, Navalnaya claimed that she was tortured immediately after her arrest.
“I said I hadn’t committed any crimes. They put me on a chair and started beating me on the head, on the legs, and hit me in the thigh with an electric shock. They promised that not only would they let me go, but if I admitted everything, I would sooner be exchanged with Ukraine and will go to my mother,” she stated.
