Operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Russia

According to Sarantsev, over the past week, the occupiers have intensified tactical air and drone operations in the Kharkov direction.
Operation No. 2 – Lugansk region
Russian troops recently advanced west of Svatovo during attacks along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line on 7 October.
A Ukrainian military observer said the occupiers had captured Myasozharivka (west of Svatove).
A Russian “military correspondent” claimed that Putin’s troops had advanced east of Kolesnikovka and Kruglyakovka, although ISW saw no evidence.
Russian invaders advanced near Sinkovka, Kucherovka, Kruglyakovka, Novoosinovoye, Stepnoy Novoselovka, Vishnevoye, Druzhelyubovka, Novosadovoye, Nevsky, Grekovka, Zarechny, in the Serebryansky forestry area and near Dibrova on 6 and 7 October.
Representative of the Lugansk group of troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anastasia Bobovnikova said that the occupiers conduct about a dozen infantry attacks per day with the help of 3-4 personnel in the Lugansk direction, and only occasionally try to carry out mechanized attacks.
Operation No. 3 – Donetsk region
The Russian occupiers continued their attack northeast of Seversk in the Belogorovka area on 6 and 7 October, but there were no confirmed changes to the front line in the area.

The Russian Ministry of Defense spoke of the capture of Grodovka (east of Pokrovsk), but ISW observed no confirmation that the Russians were operating in the northern or eastern parts of this settlement.
Russian bloggers claimed that Russian troops caught the desired second and advanced in the area of Novogrodovka, Lisovka and in the area of Seldevo, Novoselidovka, Izmailovka, Gornyak and Nevsky. However, ISW found no confirmation.
Russian troops also continued offensive operations in the areas of Novotroitsky, Luch, Novotoretsky, Mirnograd, Lisovka and Krutoy Yar, in the direction of Petrovka, at Novogrodovka, Nikolaevka, Seldevo, Novoselidovka, Gornyak, Tsukurino and Zhelanye Second on October 6 and 7.
Russian occupiers are reported to have advanced west of Donetsk.
Ukrainian and Russian sources said Russian troops had captured half of Maksimilianovka, suggesting the Russians had likely advanced into the central part of the village, according to the report.
A Russian blogger linked to the Kremlin claimed that Putin’s troops had captured the western outskirts of the village. Ostroye, and moving towards the Ostrovsky railway track and north of Maksimilianovka, although ISW did not find confirmation.
On October 6 and 7, the occupiers continued offensive operations in the area of Ostroy, Ostrovsky, Georgievka and in the direction of Aleksandrovka.

Neither Ukrainian nor Russian sources reported attacks in the area of the administrative border with Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions on 7 October.
“Southern Axis”
Russian ISW sources reported that the operational tempo on the southern front line in the Kamensky area of the Zaporozhye region is intensifying after a long operational pause following the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the summer of 2023.
Geolocation images from October 6 show Russian troops making minor advances near Kamenskoye and Plavnoye on the eastern shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir, reportedly between October 6 and 7.
Several Russian bloggers said on October 6 that Putin’s troops counterattacked after the Ukrainian armed forces allegedly tried unsuccessfully to break through near Kamensky.
Russian “military correspondents” also said that Russian troops advanced to positions north of the dried-up areas of the Kakhovka reservoir directly west of Kamenskoye and entered the area west of Kamenskoye.
A Russian source claimed that both Russian and Ukrainian forces were deploying reserves in the Kamensky region, although the ISW could not independently verify this claim, the report said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on October 7, the invaders attacked near Rabotino.
A Russian source claims that Russian units are disabling the Ukrainian troops’ Starlink system in the Zaporozhye direction, and Russian aviation is bombing positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Orekhov with FAB-1500 bombs.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on October 6 and 7 that Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks in unspecified areas in the Kherson direction, presumably referring to areas on the left bank of the Kherson region, the ISW report said.
