“In Ukraine, the night passed without Shaheds for the first time in the last 48 days,” the Monitor Telegram channel, which monitors Russian aviation in the air, reported in the morning.
Observers note that the last time this happened was on August 29.
According to reports from the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the movement of attack drones was last recorded in the air in the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions on the morning of October 13, around 06:23.
Temporarily and O. The head of the communication department of the Air Force Yuriy Ignat gave official confirmation to ArmyInform that for the first time in the last 48 days for Ukraine the night passed without “Shaheds”. According to him, the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation also remained inactive.
It should be noted that September 2024 was the first month of daily Shaheed attacks.
Why the enemy took a break: probable reasons
The head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, said in a comment to RBC-Ukraine that the pause in the enemy’s use of “Shaheds” indicates two factors.
“The first factor is that Ukraine successfully hit one of Shahedov’s warehouses in the village of Oktyabrskoye near Yeisk last week and this led to some effect. The second is that Russia now needs some pause to, say, start using and saving more,” explains Musienko.
He recalled that successful Ukrainian strikes forced the Russians to rethink logistics. Because of this, the enemy took a certain break to reformat this logistics and again reach certain volumes.
“Besides, I think so October will be an indicator of how long Russia can sustain such an intensity of shelling from the Shaheeds, as they revealed in September. And this will be an indicator of how much the enemy has enough reserves in general, how well their production can cope, how quickly they can restore these reserves,” Musienko believes.
According to him, it goes without saying that this break may have a long-term perspective in this case. That is this does not mean that the enemy abandoned the tactic of delaying the Shaheds. However, these threats remain.
The Russian Federation may be preparing to manufacture the Shaheds at another factory
“You must understand that within a certain period of time these attacks may resume again, but at the same time the Ukrainian Defense Forces are constantly working to find storage sites for Shaheeds for subsequent destruction,” Musienko noted.
The expert noted that this also applies to the attacker’s production of kamikaze drones. Because there are some reasons to believe so The Russian Federation may be preparing to expand production of Shaheds at another factory. This could probably happen in Kabardino-Balkaria near the city of Nalchik.
“Therefore, all of this is being closely monitored with the aim of further destroying and defeating these objects as soon as we have the opportunity. Extensive work is now being done, say to reduce the likelihood of enemy missiles and drones attacking or delaying them as much as possible.” , – summed up Musienko.
