In particular, the South Korean government and military are “considering a plan to send an appropriate number of personnel, including intelligence officers (specialists on North Korea) and experts on enemy tactics” to Ukraine. Thus, the country reacts to the latest information that North Korea has sent its troops to the Russian Federation to participate in the war against our country.
Citing a representative of South Korean intelligence, the media of the same country clarifies that South Korean personnel in Ukraine will interrogate and provide translation services if the Ukrainian armed forces capture North Korean soldiers. In addition, they will provide Kiev with information on North Korean military tactics, doctrine and operations.
Newsweek, meanwhile, recalled that the South Korean Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it would consider measures with an “open attitude” regarding possible deliveries of lethal weapons to Ukraine. Prior to this, during the Russian-Ukrainian war, Seoul provided humanitarian aid to Kiev.
The publication also noted that on Friday, South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea has decided to send 12 thousand special forces to Russia. In addition, 1,500 of them are already in the Russian Federation.
A day earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that North Korea “intends to train 10 thousand soldiers from various branches of the military” to participate in hostilities on the side of Russia. He also warned that North Korea’s participation could be “the first step in a world war”.
