Kovalenko noted that now the main attention of the Russians is focused on Kurakhovo. They are trying to storm the city practically head-on. The enemy is also trying to advance through the village of Maksimilyanovka, which is adjacent to the city.
In addition, as the expert added, the enemy wants to surround Kurakhovo from the west and south. They want to reach the main logistics artery in the near future – the village of Dachnoe.
At the same time, according to Kovalenko, the Russians can concentrate on Pokrovsk when they meet two conditions:
- they will have control of the southern flank completely closed;
- they will be able to form the main battle line from which they will push off.
The expert clarified that there are several options for such a battle line.
“It can be Novotroitskoye-Shevchenko-Dachenskoye-Sukhoi Yar. Or they can form a line through Zheltoye to Dachenskoye and only when it is formed will they begin the main phase of the attack on Pokrovsk.
