Explora Journeys company organized triple celebration at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Italyand continues to grow to a fleet of six ships planned by 2028.
EXPLORA II delivered and it becomes the second vessel in the Explora Journeys fleet, representing a €3.5 billion investment for the MSC Group.. The ship will set off on its maiden voyage on September 16 from Civitavecchia in Italy to Sicily, Malta and Spain.
A EXPLORA III launch ceremony took place today at the shipyard, during which two godmothers placed commemorative coins inside the ship, symbolizing the blessing on its construction and wishing it luck in the future.
The third celebration of Explora Journeys was marked by Ceremony of cutting the first steel sheet at the Fincantieri shipyardsymbolizing start of construction of EXPLORA IVwhich will work for LNG and completed in early 2027. EXPLORA V will join the fleet in 2027, and EXPLORA VI in 2028.. The two ships are planned to be equipped with high-power fuel cells to convert renewable LNG into hydrogen to significantly reduce emissions.
