According to her, combustion products released into the air as a result of Russian missile attacks have already reached Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Serbia, Croatia and Poland.
The minister also added that due to hostilities and forest fires during almost three years of full-scale war, the greenhouse gas absorption potential of Ukrainian forests decreased by 1.7 million tons. A total of 3 million hectares of forest have already been destroyed due to the war.
In addition, according to Grinchuk, the territory of Ukraine contaminated with explosive objects is 139,000 square meters. km is twice the area of Azerbaijan.
A massive attack in Ukraine
Let’s remember that on November 17, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine for the first time in the last three months. As President Vladimir Zelensky said, Russians fired 120 missiles and 90 drones.
