According to Putin, the Oreshnik missile is a nuclear-free hypersonic ballistic missile, which is probably not a modernization of old Soviet systems. According to Putin, this missile was created on the basis of “the latest developments”.
Putin claims that Russia has a stockpile of such missiles. But it is worth noting that in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced a dozen such missiles on the balance sheet of the Russian army.
The dictator also boasted that Oreshnik, when it was used massively along with other missiles and weapons assumed to be comparable to weapons of strategic importancebut this missile is not a weapon of mass destruction, but a “high precision weapon.”
In addition, Putin said that today such a missile as Oreshnik probably exists only in Russia, but in the future it may appear in other countries. Moreover, according to the dictator, there are no means that could intercept this missile in the whole world, and not only in Ukraine.
At the end of the address, the dictator added that after the tests are completed, Oreshnik can be sent to Syria, where a contingent of Russian military personnel is located.
