The legion’s fighters noted their unwavering devotion to the fight against Russian aggression.
“We categorically deny these baseless allegations. While we fully support the Georgian people’s legitimate outrage over the Georgian government’s decision to halt progress towards EU accession, our fight remains here in Ukraine, where our common enemy resides,” they said.
The volunteers also recalled that the Georgian Legion has been participating in the defense of Ukraine since 2014 and continues to resist Russian aggression.
“Our commitment to Ukraine’s victory is unwavering, and we will be at the front until this goal is achieved,” they stressed.
Protests in Georgia
In the October 26 parliamentary elections, the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party led by Irakli Kobakhidze won with a result of 54%. The opposition parties received between 8 and 11% of the vote.
