US President-elect Donald Trump said he will try to end Russia’s war on Ukraine. However, he noted that Ukraine may receive less aid after he comes to power.
In an interview with Meet the Press, Trump said he was actively trying to end the war “if he can.” He added that Ukraine “maybe” can expect not to receive as much military aid from the United States when he returns to power.
At the same time, the politician did not commit to keeping the United States in NATO, the European military alliance that has been a bulwark against Russia since World War II.
However, Trump stressed that he would maintain the US role in NATO if the members “pay their bills”.
