The organizers of the drug deal turned out to be local residents, including a 36-year-old lawyer at the Free Legal Aid Centre.
It is noted that the group produced amphetamine, mephedrone and A-PVP in two secret laboratories in private premises.
The SBU and the National Police reported that the attackers produced psychotropic substances worth every month approximately 5 million hryvnia The products were sold through a network of dealers in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Odessa and Chernivtsi regions.
Four members of the syndicate were arrested while preparing a new batch of psychotropic drugs for sale.
During 22 searches the prisoners were found to have:
- 5 kg of psychotropic substance A-PVP;
- almost 160 liters of precursors;
- equipment for the production and packaging of psychotropic substances;
- cell phones with evidence of illegal activity;
- bank cards through which payments were made for the sale of “goods”.
It is known that five the prisoners were informed of suspicion of illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding, sale of psychotropic substances or their analogues as part of an organized criminal group (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
They are threatened up to 12 years conclusion with forfeiture of property.
The investigation is ongoing to identify others involved.
