“On December 11, during the meeting, the members of the committee supported the decision to organize a ‘special monitoring mission’ to Kharkov. Therefore, Ukraine will be the first country where this mechanism will be applied,” writes the Ministry of Culture.
The department clarified that such a step will make it possible to record the damage to the state-owned industrial building, which was suffered by Russian occupiers. Efforts to recover PM will also be coordinated and evidence will be collected to bring Russian war criminals to justice.
Culture Minister Mykola Tochitsky noted that Ukraine is strengthening its efforts to use UNESCO’s mechanisms for maximum protection and preservation of cultural property in wartime conditions.
The head of the Ministry of Culture is confident that the results of the “special monitoring mission” will help record the destruction and send the results to the International Criminal Court.
