As the correspondent reports RBC-UkraineArtem Vlasyuk, head of the Department of Environmental Safety and Civil Protection of the Department of Radiation, Chemical, Biological Protection of the Command of the Armed Forces of the Support Forces of Ukraine, stated this at a briefing.
“In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion with symptoms of poisoning, more than 2 thousand servicemen with various degrees of poisoning by unknown or known chemical substances have been sent to medical institutions both for military purposes and the general medical infrastructure of Ukraine, Vlasyuk said.
According to him, we are primarily talking about poisoning with tear-producing substances CS and CN, which are used in grenades for riot control.
“As for the dead military personnel, we now have, unfortunately, three such deaths,” he clarified.
Russia uses chemical weapons
Let’s remember that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons previously found it Russia used the subject of CS in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
OPCW Director General Fernando Arias expressed “deep concern” over Russia’s use of chemical weapons.
