The Prime Minister “unfortunately is at a loss for words, which is why she had to write” the message addressed to the ambassadors gathered at the States General of Diplomacy in Farnesina. This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani. A video message was planned, which was then turned into text. The reason? The Prime Minister remained voiceless after yesterday’s final rally on the Atreju stage. It became a real leader’s show in front of “his” people: 65 minutes in which he condensed the invectives shouted at his opponents, old and new leaders of the left, of Romano Prodi to Elly Schlein. Without forgetting Mauricio Landini.
Today the voice disappeared and, as Tajani Meloni explained, he “had to write” a message to the Italian ambassadors with whom he spoke in person in the morning on the day President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. In her message, the Prime Minister reiterated her support for Kiev’s self-defense: “On November 19th we remembered the thousand days of heroic Ukrainian resistance to the Russian war of aggression. We will continue to firmly support Ukraine’s self-defense. Next July, Italy will host the conference on reconstruction, an important event for which I count on your support.” From Kiev to the Middle East. Which “deserves a new perspective to get out of this permanent crisis. The truce in Lebanon and the fall of the Assad regime in Syria are opportunities that we must work on, together with our partners, to achieve a just and sustainable peace throughout the region”, reports the Prime Minister’s message. Reaffirming Italy’s commitment “on the front line to call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of Israeli hostages and the establishment of the foundations for a lasting political solution, possible only through a two-state solution, which guarantees the security and mutual recognition for Israelis and Palestinians.”
Then, addressing the ambassadors in Farnesina, he added: “Your work is not work like others, it is a mission, you are the voice of an entire community. Family is the most important thing we have and Italy is our family. As happens in every family, when a problem arises you need to know how to solve it. You need to make choices and decide which way to go. Is there a risk of making a mistake? Absolutely. None of us have the solution to every problem in our pocket and we make mistakes every day. But this is what our mission asks of us: to dare, to have courage, to throw our hearts beyond the obstacle.”
Meanwhile, Meloni’s long speech from Circus Maximus at the FdI party also provoked Cdr Rainews’ reaction due to the “ample space” granted by director Petrecca “with the one-hour live broadcast, without any journalistic intermediation, analysis or comment” .
