Rheinmetall has entered into a contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense for the supply of propelling charge modules for 155 mm artillery guns. The value of the order, which was placed in the fourth quarter of 2024, is approximately EUR 9 million.
The connector provides several tens of thousands of 155 mm propellant loading modules of various types. They are to be delivered in January 2025.
“In modern artillery, shells and propellant charges are loaded separately to achieve different ranges,” Rheinmetall noted.
Rheinmetall is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large caliber ammunition and propellant systems.
Rheinmetall is currently Ukraine’s most important defense industry partner in its defensive fight against Russian aggression.
During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin, the company and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding to expand strategic cooperation. The agreement aims to identify and develop additional areas for deeper cooperation between the Ukrainian defense industry and the Düsseldorf-based group.
