Russian dictator Vladimir Putin reacted to the bombing of the head of the radiation protection troops, chemical and biological protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
Commenting on the killing of Kirillov, Putin said it was an alleged “terrorist act” that could lead to casualties among other Russians.
He also complained that Ukraine had allegedly already “committed such terrorist attacks” against Russian citizens.
Kirillov’s bombing
On December 16, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officially raised suspicions in absentia against a Russian general for using banned chemical weapons against the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the investigators, he was responsible for more than 4.8 thousand chemical attacks with toxic substances such as CN (chloroacetophenone) and CS (chlorobenzalmalononitrile) since the beginning of the war.
On December 17, it became known about its liquidation. Along with the general, his assistant Ilya Polikarpov, known for his participation in Russian propaganda, died.
As RBC-Ukraine sources note, the operation to kill the general was organized by the SBU.
