Traveling, no matter where, is both a great pastime and very rewarding. And going North is a choice that never fails. Idyllic landscapes, beautiful towns and amazing food are the perfect combination to choose as a destination.
One of my favorite getaways Galicia, especially Pontevedra. The coast has islands, harbours, beaches and dreamy landscapes that make it the perfect place to visit. And today I discover a small fishing village, one of Amancio Ortega’s favorites and worth escaping to enjoy a few days of rest.
This is about Don’t be fooled, An ideal fishing village with its own estuary, Rías Baixas’ best kept secret. We all know about those in Vigo, Pontevedra and Arousa, but the Aldán estuary, which is very small, quiet, beautiful and hidden, is unknown to many people.
Aldán is a town distinguished by its idyllic beaches and bays (more than 20 different bays) with white sand and warmer turquoise waters. In fact, it is famous for being a region with a microclimate.
The town actually consists of six incorporated villages (San Cibrán, A Espiñeira, Herbello, O Piñeiro, Mandón and Menduiña) and a hidden estuary in the O Morrazo area, between the Vigo estuary and the Pontevedra estuary, specifically the Pontevedra estuary. Ev and Udra capes with impressive landscapes and wild beaches. It is a marine area where mussel farming and fishing are prominent.
Castilla in Frendoal Manor
This charming town has a beautiful promenade that passes through San Cibrán beach and leads to the harbour. Also noteworthy is the church of San Cibrán de Aldán, or the Enchanted Forest in Finca de Frendoal, the mansion of the Counts of Aldán, one of its best-kept secrets and even home to a medieval castle.
In addition, it offers a variety of restaurants for luxurious meals, starring local seafood and fish, of course. You already know that Galician gastronomy is a delight and the perfect conclusion to enjoy idyllic days of absolute peace.
