The tennis player from Rio de Janeiro, ranked 145th in the world, defeated Jakub Mensik from Czech, ranked 48th, by a margin of 3 sets to 2, with partials of 3/4, 4/3, 4/3, 3/4 and 4/3. Thus, he achieved prize money of more than R$ 1.5 million in the tournament, advanced to the semifinals as the first place of the Blue Group and will face the Frenchman Luca Van Assche, on Saturday (21), in search of a place in his decision.
