“On the night of December 22, the enemy attacked with 103 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones,” the report said.
The occupiers launched drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Berdyansk.
“The launch of an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Crimea in the direction of the Kherson region was also recorded,” the military noted.
How did the air defense work?
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“As of 10:00, the shooting down of 52 attack UAVs of the type “Shahed” and drones of other types was confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkov, Kiev, Chernigov, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Nikolaev and Zaporizhzhya -regions,” they said.
In addition, due to active resistance from the defense forces, 44 enemy simulator drones were lost locally, one drone flew in the direction of Belarus.
Consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine
In the Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernigov, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions, private businesses and apartment buildings were damaged due to the Russian attack.
Particularly, Drone debris fell on a high-rise building in Brovary on the night of December 22, a fire started. Also, in the Chernigov region, the administrative building was damaged due to falling debris from Shahed.
