Rabat – Together – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez today, Saturday, called on countries around the world to recognize the Palestinian state, grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations, and work to end the Israeli occupation.
Sanchez’s remarks were made while attending the International Socialist Congress, which will be held in Morocco’s capital Rabat from Friday to Sunday.
Mr. Sanchez emphasized the importance of “achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.”
He stressed the need for “joint efforts to confront the worsening crisis in different parts of the world, especially in Palestine.”
“Within the framework of a two-state solution, we must end the Israeli occupation and allow the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Sanchez said.
He added: “We must end the suffering of the Palestinian people and end the siege and restrictions on civilian life.”
