According to Bodnar, the Ukrainian Legion is a success story that some politicians and Russian propaganda are trying to turn into a negative fact.
“The process (recruitment – ed.), of course we would like it to go faster, but it is going as it is going. We are working to make this information publicly available in all EU countries, and possibly abroad. We can stimulate only voluntary encouragement, this is an absolutely voluntary unit, I am confident that our citizens will be well prepared, the ambassador added.

Let us remind you that the Polish authorities agreed to form the Ukrainian Legion of Ukrainian citizens living in European countries. Volunteers are now being trained in Poland. The Polish authorities also promised to arm them.
As Poland’s Deputy Defense Minister Pawel Zalevsky noted on October 8, that a day after the start of recruitment to the Ukrainian Legion, 196 Ukrainians submitted applications.
