Russian attack on Ukraine on December 25
On December 25, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure. The occupiers’ main targets were energy facilities, which led to extensive damage and power outages in several regions.
Russia has used a variety of weapons, including ballistic missiles and drones. President Vladimir Zelensky reported that a total of more than 70 missiles and more than 100 attack drones were fired. Thanks to the work of the air defense, it was possible to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant part of the drones.
As a result of the strikes in the Kharkov region, hits were recorded in three districts of the city, there was damage to houses and at least six people were injured.
The Russian strike in the Carpathians left Kalush, Burshtyn and Ivano-Frankivsk without electricity. There is also no water supply in Kalush due to the loss of power to treatment facilities.
Russian attacks in the Dnepropetrovsk region caused emergency water cuts in some areas due to problems with the electricity grid.
As a result of the shelling of the Kirovograd region, a gas pipe and house windows were damaged.
In the Kiev region, debris from downed missiles damaged trucks, houses and cafes.
At the same time, the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko reported significant damage to facilities, including thermal power plants of the DTEK company. This is the thirteenth massive attack on the Ukrainian energy sector this year.
