The Air Force had been informed of the threat to the Nikolaev region due to enemy kamikaze drones since the previous evening, 27 December.
Closer to midnight, the military said enemy attack drones were moving towards the region from the south and urged residents of Ochakov, Nikolaev region, to go to shelters.
Later, the Air Force announced that it had detected the movement of an enemy kamikaze drone in the direction of Nikolaev from the south.
Meanwhile, Nikolaev Telegram channels wrote about the work of the air defense in the Nikolaev region and about the first shooting down of enemy air targets.
Also, closer to half past two, local media reported that the sound of explosions was heard in Nikolaev.
Updated: repeated explosions
At about 01:25, repeated sounds of explosions were heard in Nikolaev.
Prior to this, the Air Force announced that a group of enemy drones was detected south of Nikolaev, and that kamikaze drones were moving towards the city. The military again urged residents of Nikolaev to stay in shelters.
