Twelve grapes at midnight
One of the most beloved Portuguese traditions is to eat twelve grapes when the clock strikes midnight. Each grape symbolizes a wish for the coming year. This custom is accompanied by a toast with sparkling wine, symbolizing prosperity and good luck.
