The Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a direct summons to the court for aggravated defamation against Fabricio Corona and another accused of an article published in October 2023 on the website Dillingernews.it, in which the former photographic agent plays the role of “de facto editor-in-chief”. Article in which there was talk of an indescribable “emotional bond” between the prime minister Giorgia Meloni and FdI deputy, Manlio Messina.
The trial, which arose from the complaints of Meloni, civil partner of lawyer Luca Libra, and Messina, also civil partner of lawyer Mattia Serpotta, will begin, as stated in the decree signed by prosecutor Marcello Viola, deputy Letizia Mannella and the prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia, on January 21st in front of the eighth penal section of Milan.
In addition to Corona, defended by lawyer Ivano Chiesa, he is also accused Lucas Arnaudefended by lawyer Alessio Pomponi. According to prosecutors, it was the former king of the paparazzi who “acquired the ‘false’ news” with “checks that revealed its absolute baselessness” and then “insistently ordered the immediate editing of the article”, also with “altered photographs” . Finally, it was Arnau who wrote and published it on October 20th of last year.
Among the trial witnesses, indicated by the prosecutors in the decree, is also the Prime Minister herself, a civilian party.
