Mike Walz could become national security adviser in the future US presidential administration. Donald Trump nominated Walz for the post.
After a Republican meeting with Trump on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Walz said Trump wants to bring Ukraine and the Russian Federation to the negotiating table.
“The president has been clear that he wants to bring both sides to the negotiating table. He is focused on ending the war, not continuing it,” he said.
The Republican added that the vision of security policy regarding Ukraine depends on Trump’s decision.
It is worth adding that the National Security Advisor is an important position in the US presidential administration. In Joe Biden’s administration, this post is held by Jake Sullivan. The adviser is responsible for briefing the president on important national security issues and coordinating with various agencies.
