It all began in 1987 when Claudia Terrade created Quimbaya Tours in Bogota, driven by a deep desire to introduce those in France to her homeland, Colombia. Very quickly Jean Terrad joined her, and together they gave birth to a child. Quimbaya Latin America 1988, with one goal: to reveal to the world the little-known treasures of Latin America. They were convinced that this continent was full of natural and cultural riches that were still insufficiently explored, and that the world deserved to discover them.
The choice of the name Quimbaya reflects this philosophy. It pays homage to a pre-Columbian civilization known for its exceptional craftsmanship and close connection with nature. This name symbolizes strong values: creativity, perseverance and respect for tradition. Paying tribute to the heritage of our ancestors, Quimbaya Latin America strives every day to balance respect for roots and openness to new ideas and new practices.
